Chubb Hong Kong Supports Construction Site Safety

HONG KONG, May 3, 2007  A team of 100 staff from Chubb Hong Kong participated in the Site Safety Morning Exercise to launch the Construction Safety Promotion Campaign 2007. The aim of the campaign was to improve safety awareness and reduce work injuries in the construction industry.

Members of the Chubb team joined the 500 participants in a morning exercise routine in Bauhinia Square, Wanchai to launch the Construction Safety Promotional Campaign. Mr. Paul Tang, the Permanent Secretary for Economic Development and Labour, led the morning exercise to highlight the importance of construction safety. Workers who took part in the exercises could stretch their muscles and exercise their joints to warm up for work and to reduce work injuries. The Chubb team was the largest team to participate in the event which not only showed the company’s commitment to safety, but also demonstrated the strong team spirit amongst the Chubb employees.

To highlight the importance of Safety First, the company has rolled out a series of campaigns to reduce accidents and injuries of its workers. “We believe that every employee has the right to go home safely and our employees are given the skills and equipment to create a safe workplace,” said Brisson.
